Christoph Senn is Adjunct Professor of Marketing at the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University, New York. Additionally, he is Senior Lecturer of International Marketing at the Research Institute for International Management, University of St.Gallen, and a founding Partner of the St.Gallen spin-off Account Management Center Zurich. He has also conducted post-doc research at the Judge Institute for International Management Studies, University of Cambridge, England (1998-1999) and lectured at the Northern Institute of Technology, Technical University of Hamburg, Germany (2000-2003).
Christoph Senn’s professional background includes
twelve years of experience in the area of international business-to-business
marketing. He was sales & marketing director of a business
unit at Balzers + Leybold and then head of the Center of
Competence Industrial Marketing at the University of St.Gallen.
In 2000, he founded together with Dr. René Zeier the Account
Management Center (AMC) Zurich. AMC’s mission is to implement
key account programs in order to help its clients achieve
profitable growth.
Christoph Senn’s current research interests focus on managing global customer relationships in business-to-business markets. He frequently conducts consulting and benchmarking projects in close cooperation with leading companies. Included are firms such as ABB, British Telecom, Canon, Ciba, Cisco, Danfoss, Deutsche Bank, Hoffmann-La Roche, Linde, Microsoft, Novartis, SAP, Siemens, Tetra Pak and Vodafone.
Previous research also examined the challenges and consequences of global marketing strategy implementation, and the principles of successful key account management in various industries. He teaches international marketing and global account management at graduate level as well as MBA and executive courses in key account management.
Prof. Senn holds a master degree and a doctoral degree (summa cum laude) in Marketing from the University of St.Gallen, Switzerland. He is a member of the board of the Strategic Account Management Association, Chicago and a member of the editorial board of the UK-based Journal of Major Account Management and Selling.
In the Swiss Army, Christoph Senn holds the rank of a Lieutenant-Colonel GS and was from 2000-2003 Commander of a Mechanized Infantry Battalion. From 1997 – 2001 he was also President of the Army Officers Association of St.Gallen. He lives in Mörschwil with his wife Eva and their daughter Michelle.
